For us, one of the best things to come out of the marriage of Natalie and Mark was that it allowed us to get to know and value Ruth and her late husband John. We were able to spend several holidays with Ruth and the Fryers in Scotland, Ireland, France, England and (of course) Wales. These were events we looked forward to and now look back on with fond memory. In many ways the most memorable experience was on the Paris underground. Ruth had her purse lifted and then recovered and we had a 'major' incident when 3 of us fell backwards and Mark ran down the escalator (the wrong way) in order to save his mother and his in-laws. We feel that our lives have been enriched by long association with Ruth and there will be a big gap left behind. She was kind, thoughtful, caring and loving. She always showed that she had time for others and was willing and eager to hear what they had to say. A deeply spiritual person, she asked many pertinent questions, showed deep insight into the things we believe and - above all - put her faith into practice. Since Covid she has been a regular and valued member of our weekly family zoom meetings. We shall miss her company, but look forward to when we can meet once again in the kingdom for which she long and prayed. A much loved friend.
